Sara Khatib is the founder of Sara Khatib Design—Sara has always had a strong affinity for fashion, interiors, entertaining and all-things timeless, classic & beautiful. She’s had a longstanding design career in a variety of roles. Sara spent much of her earlier career as a public relations & marketing executive working on creative set design, various marketing campaigns and event design at prominent organizations—including The Estée Lauder Companies, People magazine, a luxury beauty retailer & more after getting her feet wet at a young age with internships at iconic design houses Oscar de la Renta & Diane von Furstenberg, and in the editorial world at Condé Nast & Hearst Publications.

On the side, she was repeatedly approached with decorating, event design & fashion requests from family & friends who often noticed her eye through her work, personal interiors & timeless sense of style. At the end of 2023, Sara realized that formalizing a design business and having a place to truly create & share her vision was a natural next step.

In January 2024, she launched Sara Khatib Design inspired by her love of events and talent for decorating. By March, Sara introduced “The Shop”—a thoughtfully curated online boutique to pair with her services. Noticing several gaps in the market in terms of the desired mix of color, pattern, and quality that she was dreaming up—both for her closet & her home—Sara felt driven & inspired to create her own fashion & home offerings in addition to her services— a dream she had buried long ago. Come August, her first eponymous capsule arrived featuring unique women’s resort pieces, and by October, she debuted her first custom home goods & bespoke occasion pieces for the holiday season.

Sara is originally from Fairfield County, Connecticut and currently based in Darien (after more than a decade in Manhattan). When not working, you can find her exploring some of her favorite spots with family & friends along the East Coast & beyond.
